RuPay Card is a domestic ATM card based on an indigenous payment system developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). Its name combines two words—‘Rupaya’ (rupee) and ‘payment’. It is used similarly to international cards like Visa, American Express, and MasterCard.
RuPay Card was developed by NPCI in April 2011 and was officially launched and dedicated to the nation as India’s own payment card, RuPay, by the then President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, on 8 May 2014. The Reserve Bank of India had envisioned the need for such a domestic service back in 2005.
We currently offer three types of RuPay Debit Cards:
